Dokk, the ruler over the spirit realm, was once a great Dragon. Our story, however, starts with a certain goddess, reveling in her Realm of the Blade. As the goddess, Cuthena we shall call her, tread from town to town meeting the residents of her private world, she stumbled upon a pair of shimmering eggs, glowing with the intensity of the sun. Wondering what sort of creature left the eggs behind, Cuthena started a hunt, composed of the greatest warriors throughout history. Each was brought up from the grave and given a small fragment from one of the eggs. For three years Cuthena and her warriors searched without success. Suddenly, at the dawn of the fourth year, the unbroken egg started to crack, revealing a shimmering pheonix. Having created this world without light, the pheonix server her well, illuminating those areas even her god-like eyes couldn’t adjust to.
Cuthena began to wonder how a pheonix could have hatched from this egg. Clearly she had not brought any pheonixes into this world, but the larger mystery laid within the other egg. Soon, another hatchling emerged, bearing two enormous sets of claws, sharper than any blade. The wings expanding from this hatchling rivaled the size of even the strongest, most matured Dragons of any realm, beating with such intensity that the wind itself blew whichever way the dragon faced. Delighted by the spawn of her creations, Cuthena named the pheonix Traye, which means “Sacred Light”, and the dragon Dokk, which means “Great Ruler”.
As the siblings grew older, each gained more power and influence over the land and elements. Traye was able to manipulate light and darkness, as well as the growth of plant life at his will, while Dokk was able to travel between mystical realms, conquoring great armies threatening the balance of the natural world. Traye, however, became jealous of his sister and swore to destroy the life that Dokk fought so hard to protect. Dokk, through her many travels, had learned the magical arts and how to create magical prisons, capable of holding any living being. As Traye prepared for war, Dokk prepared an elaborate labirynth, filled with the strongest creatures from every realm.
Cuthena, seeing her creation turning slowly toward evil ways, instead created a Realm of Pain, where Traye would be tormented for all of eternity with his own nightmares becoming reality. When Dokk returned to challenge her brother, he found instead a band of Cuthena’s hunters, looking for the greatest challenge of the land. While they fought valliantly to bring Dokk down, she was too powerful for them. Cuthena, seeing Dokk’s pain, decided to create a Spiritual Realm, where Dokk could rule her subjects with integrity and justice, where no mortal would be able to enter for several mellinia.
As years wore on, Dokk’s power extended throughout the Normal realm and spiritual beings started appearing to keep order and balance. Traye had also extended his reach to the Normal Realm, creating great Trees, massive enough to contain shards of his spirit, which illuminates for all eternity, taking the place of the sun. He to this day gives guests to travelers wishing for challenge, granting them his favors when they complete his tasks. Dokk, on the other hand grants anyone able to best her with magical wristbands that grant the user great improvements in magical arts as well as dungeon creation.
